



Flight information to Mariehamn (EFMA)
Reporting at the border:
When you cross the FIR-border you must:
Call Mariehamn TWR (EFMA) on 119.600 MHz, if the tower is open.
If the tower is closed, contact Helsinki Control on 132.725 MHz.
Often you receive the frequency from Sweden Control when you leave controlled airpace.
Navigation help:
Use the waypoints RIKUM, OGLOB, DODAM, and others according to current charts.

ATIS-information:
Listen to the ATIS well in advance on frequency 132.425 MHz.
The message will state if the tower is open or not.
ATIS-frequency is often heard well into Swedish FIR.
Clearance:
You will most likely get a clearance from Helsinki Control or Mariehamn TWR.
Example: “Cleared …XXX… feet or below to Mariehamn TMA/CTR” – sometimes all the way to base leg.
When the tower is closed (G-airspace):
Report your intentions on 119.600 MHz to Mariehamn Traffic with your intentions.
When the tower is open (D-airspace):
Call Mariehamn Tower on 119.600 MHz.
Dual monitoring (recommended):
If you are unsure about the traffic in Mariehamn TMA, monitor Helsinki Control frequency at the same time.
Flight plan termination:
Helsinki Control does not terminate the flight plan automatically.
Ask for it or call Helsinki Control +358 3 386 5172 (preferably by phone).

Landning & departing
Landing is allowed even when the tower is closed.
The airport is closed for GA traffic between 22:00-07:00 Local time. (Summertime 19:00-04:00 UTC, Wintertime 20:00-05:00 UTC).
Start fees:
About 50 € for a C172.
About 30 € for an ultralight.
Fee depends on MTOW.
No fee if the tower is closed.

It is requested that the flight plan be activated via phone to Helsinki Control: +358 3 386 5172 (Helsinki Control)
Helsinki control (132.725 MHz) can be reached from the apron – there is a slave transmitter on the field.
